BCE Physician Educator
Willis Sherrer, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist. He has been associated with Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta since 1982.
He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Sherrer served for 11 years in the United States Army assigned to San Antonio Texas and Monterey California. He also completed two years of an OB/GYN pathology Fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital and completed his tour of duty in Hawaii where he was assistant chief at Tripler Army Hospital.
Subsequently he was employed by Emory University School of Medicine as a tenured associate professor. After his clinical years at Piedmont, he has served in several administrative positions in the Piedmont healthcare system. He has been a member of the BCE coaching team at Piedmont hospital for four years and has also served on quality and peer review committees at the local, state and national level.
