BCE Physician Educator
Mona Kang, MD, FRCGP, is an internist with many years of medical practice and administrative experience. After medical school graduation, Dr. Kang worked in the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom. She attained membership from the Royal College of England (MRCGP )with merit, and worked as an attending physician before moving to Australia. She worked in a busy urban practice and gained valuable experience as the doctor on call for the Australian outback. She earned a fellowship from the Australian Royal College. Dr. Kang also worked as a healthcare executive at Anchor Senior Medical Services in Detroit, MI before relocating to Erie, PA.
In 2008 Dr. Kang joined the BCE team at UPMC Hamot in Erie. She subsequently became the lead physician coach for UPMC Hamot and affiliate hospitals. Dr. Kang is also involved in hospital quality initiatives and is the physician advisor to UPMC Hamot utilization review department.
